The Snorkel filling system was an introduction by Sheaffer in 1952 and ran until 1959. The system was an upgrade of the pneumatic Touchdown system with the added feature that unscrewing the blindcap extends a slim snorkel from the feed allowing the user to fill the pen without submerging the nib. This system provides cleaner filling and ease of use.
Being one of the standard colours, this grey Sheaffer Admiral (no white dot, gold open nib, and plastic cap) cannot be dated more specifically than the Snorkel production dates.
