The Snorkel filling system was an introduction by Sheaffer in 1953 and ran until 1957. The system was an upgrade of the pneumatic Touchdown system with the added feature that unscrewing the blindcap extends a slim snorkel from the feed allowing the user to fill the pen without submerging the nib. This system provides cleaner filling and ease of use.
The Snorkel pens came in a variety of models and colors. This particular example is pastel green with the plastic cap, white dot, and PdAg triumph nib making it a Statesman model.
